Traffic Insurance Will Get Raise Every Month Until the End of the Year

Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency (SEDDK) decided to increase the compulsory traffic insurance premiums by 2.25 percent every month. With the new decision, the increase to be seen until the end of the year will be 30.6%, while the total hike in 2022 will increase to 51% when the increase in February is taken into account.

Car owners in our country had received news that they would not welcome in the past months. Compulsory traffic insurance premiums, 1.5% per month up to 20% per year was delayed. Only 2.5 months have passed since this hike, which started at the beginning of February, and today there is news of a new hike in traffic insurance.

Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency (SEDDK) decided to increase the compulsory traffic insurance premiums by 2.25% every month. With the new hike that will be valid from the beginning of May, the compulsory traffic policy will be in effect when we add the increase in February. In 1 year, there will be a 51% increase in total.

With the new circular published by SEDDK, traffic insurance premiums, if there is no increase in the rest of the year, It will be increased by 30.6%. The lowest traffic insurance premium, which increased to 1,235 TL this month, will increase to 1,263 TL in May, 1,291 TL in June and 1,320 TL in July. The vehicle owner, who had a traffic policy for 568 TL in May last year, will pay 1,270 TL for the same policy this May.

Yalçın Metin, President of the Insurance Agencies Employers’ Union (SAİS), stated that vehicle owners could not get into their vehicles due to the staggering fuel price hikes and the high cost of living, and that the citizens could not get traffic insurance. If the problems are not resolved that the number of uninsured vehicles can reach 10 million had drawn attention.
