Berlin The Gas and Heat Commission of Experts set up by the federal government estimates the cost of their proposals for curbing the high level of gas prices at a total of 91 billion euros.
According to IG-BCE boss Michael Vassiliadis, one of the three chairmen of the commission alongside business wise man Veronika Grimm and BDI boss Siegfried Russwurm, private households as well as trade, commerce and services accounted for 66 billion euros of this. The Commission estimates another 25 billion for large consumers from industry.
How much the gas price brake actually costs depends heavily on the actual market prices for gas. The three Commission representatives emphasized that there could still be upward or downward deviations.
