Frankfurt In big cities, apartments are scarce, let alone houses. Project developers are therefore not particularly worried about finding buyers for their new buildings – but doubts are being raised about their plans: Experts criticize that the right properties are not always being built. But what do future real estate buyers want – and what do they value less? And how important are issues such as sustainability, customization and digitization to them – or solar panels on the roof? A current study by the regional portal meinestadt.de investigated these questions.
Last January, 3,000 people between the ages of 18 and 31 were interviewed for the survey, the results of which are available in advance to the Handelsblatt. Half of them were specialists with vocational training, the other half (prospective) academics.
