New York, Dusseldorf Steve Adler only knows one thing: He’s invited. But Austin’s mayor can’t provide details on Tesla’s grand opening ceremony. “Apart from the date, we have no information,” said his spokesman just a few days ago. Tesla is “very covered”.

Adler was one of the key supporters of the work. The boss of the 11th largest city in the USA invited Musk to his home in early 2020 to promote his city. The mayor promised quick planning processes and unbureaucratic help. After all, the plant brings “skilled worker jobs on a large scale in a clean industry,” as he explained in an interview with the Handelsblatt.

So much is known: On Thursday, the “Giga Texas” will be inaugurated, with 15,000 invited guests, “perhaps the biggest party” in the world, as Musk wrote on Twitter. Two thirds of the event will take place in the factory halls, one third outdoors. The party goes until midnight.
