This is how you can find out whether it is cheaper to drive an electric car

Charge electricity instead of refueling

The cost of driving an e-car depends on numerous factors.

Dusseldorf Anyone who drives to the gas pump these days should not only notice that fuel prices have fallen a little again – but also how cheap driving a car could possibly be.

This can be read on the yellow signs that, according to the federal government, must now be hung at every petrol station with more than six pumps. The so-called energy cost comparison shows how much car drivers have to pay on average for 100 kilometers, depending on the fuel.

In the comparison published by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in December, the Super E10 costs the owner of a mid-range car for 100 kilometers an average of 11.55 euros, diesel 7.82 euros. Noticeable: electricity is significantly cheaper at only 4.84 euros.
