Dusseldorf Who wants a sweater with a hood, the equivalent of 60 euros? “Tesla needs your help!”, The electric car manufacturer told its Chinese customers, “the fourth quarter push has begun.” Tesla drivers should be encouraged to volunteer to deliver the vehicles so that the company can achieve its quarterly targets. The reward: a black hoodie with the Tesla logo.

With its unusual hectic pace, Tesla has also arrived in China. While Tesla employees fill out the papers, the volunteers are supposed to explain to new customers how the vehicle works. There is no other way to meet the internal requirement “5-Minute Sign & Drive”: the car should leave the yard in five minutes.

Every three months Elon Musk declares a state of emergency in sales in order to drive up the delivery figures – and to meet analyst estimates. Internally, this is called “the wave” at Tesla.
