Three individuals were sentenced to prison for stealing seven Bitcoins worth $287,500 from someone using the recovery phrase left on a notepad.
According to local sources in Vietnam, 32-year-old Pham Van Thuan and 33-year-old Nguyen Thai Son became friends with a person named Trieu in 2018.
Facing financial problems, Thuan went to Trieu’s home in April last year to stay while he looked for a job.
One day, borrowing a laptop bag from Trieu, Thuan found a note with the phrase Trust Wallet recovery inside.
He used this to log into Trust Wallet and when he opened Trieu’s account, he discovered that Trieu was worth over $200,000. seven Bitcoins He found out he had it. Thuan returned the bag with the note inside a few days later.
