Kyiv On February 24, Russia invades Ukraine. The Moscow Ministry of Defense has declared that it will not strike cities or threaten the population. In the eight weeks that followed the war, it became obvious that the Putin regime did not comply with this from the start.

The UN has documented at least 2,104 civilians killed and 2,862 injured. Because of the poor information situation in combat zones, the actual number is probably significantly higher. Independent media report murders, rapes, torture, attacks on residential buildings – violations of international humanitarian law.

The Ukrainian Attorney General is investigating at least 5,800 cases of Russian war crimes, and 500 suspects have been identified. The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Karim Khan, is also involved.
