Dusseldorf From A for automotive engineer to Z for dentist: The demand for specialists in many areas has increased significantly again in 2022, as an analysis by the Hays HR consultancy shows. The number of job postings has increased by 125 percentage points across all industries since the start of the pandemic in the first quarter of 2020.

“This new record high once again illustrates the increasing shortage of skilled workers,” summarizes Dirk Hahn, CEO at Hays. The following applies: the more in demand a position, the better the negotiating leeway for applicants – and the greater the chances of being accepted. But which profiles are companies currently looking for the most?

This question is answered by a special evaluation by Hays and the Berlin Index Group, which the companies have compiled exclusively for the Handelsblatt. The comparative index offers orientation to job candidates who would like to apply strategically and maximize their own chances when looking for a job.
