This linguistic pun has led to speculation that it may be a subtle reference to Silent Hill, a classic horror series that Hideo Kojima has previously been involved with. The canceled project featured talents such as Norman Reedus, Guillermo del Toro and Junji Ito, and created significant expectation among fans.

Interestingly, this potential Silent Hill reference in the OD trailer wasn’t the only reference during the Game Awards. These details have fueled speculation that Kojima may revisit or recycle some ideas from the canceled Silent Hills project.
