The right ETFs for uncertain times

Frankfurt The global stock markets have recovered significantly from their lows in mid-June. But it is still completely unclear whether the stock market downturn is over or whether the share prices have only reached an intermediate high in a downward phase. In Europe in particular, the danger of a recession is great and may have been underestimated on the capital market to date.

And in the US, inflation has probably peaked. But the central bank (Fed) still has to tighten monetary policy more to keep prices from spiraling out of control.

How can investors react to this uncertainty? There are exchange-traded funds (ETFs) specifically designed for troubled times. They are useful, but also “not a holy grail” that always works, says Gerd Kommer from the wealth management company of the same name in Munich.
