Jesse Pollak, creator of the Base network as a category of cryptoasset, helped gain acceptance of the layer-2 network powered by Coinbase meme coin discussed their existence.
Through a video posted on his X account, Pollak explained that meme coins have helped “thousands and thousands of people join” the Base ecosystem.
“In my observation, in all the ecosystem conversations I have on a daily basis, I see memes (jokes) as one of the biggest drivers in attracting new people to the system. Of course, speculation also plays an important role in this process.”

The goal of these meme coin creators is to attract more people to their unique project and mobilize their communities to achieve it. Pollak believes that meme coins will become a cultural phenomenon that will lead millions of people to adopt Base in the future.
“One thing I have developed more confidence in is that we will see these memes recruit millions more people in the coming years. “That’s because these memes are designed to continually get more people into the system and do it in a really creative way.”
