The traffic light coalition has not yet finished negotiating, as the SPD, Greens and FDP will present new pandemic rules to the Bundestag next Thursday. In an interview with Handelsblatt, FDP General Secretary Volker Wissing explains why this is a departure from the old Corona regime.

What is being described here is a complete change of course. Corona policy is being pushed back from the special track for state experiments into a train station called Democracy.
So far, the phrase has been that the burden of the challenges for the new federal government is significantly greater than the volume of financial resources. The submission of the Federal Ministry of Finance for a tax estimate is encouraging; Because of Minister Scholz, almost Chancellor Scholz can be a little more optimistic. According to this, around 160 billion euros more tax money than planned would be available from 2021 to 2025, as my colleagues have learned.
In the future, the federal government will account for more than ten billion annually. However, the scope for distribution is not enough to meet all the wishes of the possible traffic light coalition. That should not change if the potential treasurer Christian Lindner (FDP) is calculating.

More and more intimate details are known about the workers’ uprising at Volkswagen and the Herbert Diess case. It has now leaked into “Business Insider” that the Wolfsburg-based CEO commissioned his strategy team in mid-September to create a “Target 2030” for personnel development at VW AG. This included the reduction of 30,000 to 35,000 jobs at the Wolfsburg location, i.e. every second job.
