Another project the company is working on is Direct to Cell, and we can call it a feature that allows LTE-supporting phones around the world to access text, voice and data uninterruptedly. According to the information provided on the company’s website, the new function will allow messaging, calling and much more, as long as you can see the sky wherever you are in the world.
In order for the Direct to Cell feature to work, Starlink satellites with an advanced eNodeB modem will be used, which will act like a mobile phone tower in space and allow network integration similar to a standard roaming hardware.
