Dividend kings in the Dax

Three Dax companies have been able to increase their dividends for more than a decade. Another group has been doing this since 2015.

Dusseldorf Dividends not only please the shareholders to whom they are paid. They also help the Dax to record highs: On Wednesday, the leading German index reached 16,336 points for the first time. And this valuation consists to a large extent – namely 60.4 percent – of the annual dividends paid out by the company and only 39.6 percent of the price gains of the shares.

36 of the 40 Dax companies will pass on a dividend in 2023. Only three companies have managed to increase this for more than a decade. Another group has been doing this since 2015.

Handelsblatt examines the prospects for these four stocks and examines the likelihood of further dividend increases.
It is important to pay attention to the payout ratio. This is the percentage of profits that the company passes on to shareholders. Up to 60 percent is considered solid. If the quotas are higher, the dividends threaten to shrink if business does not go well.
