The national naval gun, which has been successfully integrated into the heavily armed patrol ship TCG AKHİSAR within the scope of the MİLGEM project, may be of critical importance for the Turkish Naval Forces in the future. The equipment, which is a first for our country with its 76/62 mm dimensions, was officially incorporated into the Naval Forces in October 2023. It is expected that the naval cannon will be actively used on other ships over time. Thanks to this success, the Turkish army will be saved from a very high cost.
It was stated that MKE is currently continuing its work at full speed for the 127-millimeter naval gun. The equipment, which can fire 80 shots per minute, also comes with 5 different shooting modes. The naval gun, which is expected to provide superior performance even in the most difficult conflicts, provides a range of 16 km with standard ammunition and 20 km with special range ammunition.
