Cons: The US Federal Reserve is not a good role model for the European Central Bank (ECB)

In the USA, the risk of inflation is much greater than in the euro zone. But uncertainty is high on both sides of the Atlantic.

The US Federal Reserve (Fed) reacted to rising inflation on Wednesday. In Germany, where savers suffer from negative interest rates and consumers from rising prices, it makes sense to see this turnaround as a model for the European Central Bank (ECB). But the Fed would not be a good role model for the ECB.

There are three reasons for this, which are closely related.
