According to Omdia’s report, the best-selling smartphone all over the world in 2021 was the affordable model of South Korean Samsung, the Galaxy A12. The device, which took the top spot with a price tag of $160 and sales of 51.8 million units, was followed by the iPhone 12, which was introduced in 2020 with 41.7 million shipments. The 5-fold difference between the price tags of the two models also draws attention.
While the iPhone 13, which debuted last year, ranked third with 34.9 million shipments, the iPhone 11, which debuted in 2019, ranked fourth with 33.6 million sales.
The Redmi 9A appears in the fifth place of the list. The budget-friendly smartphone, released by Redmi in 2020, achieved great success with 26.8 million sales. At the same time, with a price tag of $ 78, it was the cheapest model on the list of best-selling smartphones in the world.
At the bottom of the list, marked by the iPhone 12 and 13 series, is the Galaxy A02, which Samsung introduced last year. Adopting the affordable price concept with a price tag of $138, the device managed to make Samsung smile with 18.3 million shipments.
