Berlin, Dusseldorf Subsidies for operating costs, state purchase guarantees and a comeback of the solar industry: In a 103-page paper, which is available to the Handelsblatt, the federal German Energy Agency (Dena) proposes a state effort to expand renewable energies.

Dena created the paper for the Federal Ministry of Economics. At an industry meeting last week, Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) already signaled that he wanted to include some of the demands.

In this way, Germany should still achieve the goals it has set itself for the expansion of wind power and solar energy. In a dialogue with 50 industry representatives, the Economics Ministry and Dena have worked out concrete steps as to how Germany and Europe can become independent of other countries in the construction of wind turbines, photovoltaic systems and power grids. The paper entitled “Cornerstones of an industrial policy strategy for renewable energies and power grids” calls for a paradigm shift in energy policy.
