Artificial Intelligence, 5G and Machine Learning gain momentum
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) will increase as digital economies grow and governments bring technology to the fore in their activities. We will see this picture in Turkey as well as in the rest of the world.
Turkey’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (2021-2025) points out that artificial intelligence technologies will have a greater impact on the global economic structure than the internet revolution. On the other hand, in line with this strategy, Turkey aims to be among the top 20 countries in international artificial intelligence indices and plans to have artificial intelligence contribute up to 5 percent of GDP.
The situation is not different in the private sector in Turkey. According to TUBISAD’s Information and Communication Technologies Sector 2020 Market Data and Trends Report, the rate of companies stating that artificial intelligence will transform their companies within 3 years is 75%, and the rate of companies stating that it will transform their industry is 61 percent.
In addition to these developments in the field of Artificial Intelligence, the proliferation of 5G, which enables the proliferation of IoT devices in Turkey, will provide increased automation in business and ease of access to data/analytics. In this direction, the “End-to-End Domestic and National 5G” project carried out by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure continues. In the statement made by the Ministry, it was reported that the 5G tender will be held at the end of 2022 and that Turkey’s first 5G services will be given by the operators in 2023.
Therefore, there is no time to waste in adapting business processes to technologies such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. In summary, organizations need to know and understand the ways to leverage the latest technologies to adapt to the speed of change and the digital future. It is clear that technologies such as cloud, AI, ML, Edge and IoT, storage, data analytics, security will continue to be at the forefront of IT investments.
