Who is Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources?
Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Mechanical Engineering. He completed his master’s degree in economics from Bilkent University Faculty of Law and in international relations from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
He completed his doctorate in the field of energy economics and policy at the Middle East Technical University, department of earth system sciences. More recently, he served as a Board Member at the Energy Market Regulatory Authority between 2010 and 2016, and then as Deputy Undersecretary of ETKB and General Manager of Foreign Relations and European Union between 2016-2018.
Alparslan Bayraktar, who works in the field of energy management and regulations in the private sector, has made a name for himself as the President of the Energy Regulators Confederation (ICER) and the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA). In addition, he currently continues his duty as Türkiye President of the World Energy Council.
