Berlin Mr. Sokov, since the start of the Ukraine war there have been repeated signals from Moscow that Russia might consider using nuclear weapons. President Vladimir Putin has just announced their stationing in Belarus. What challenges does this pose to the West?
The biggest challenge is the imponderables that the West has to deal with. There are no objective criteria for calculating the risk and probability of nuclear war. Some now say that Russia will never dare to use nuclear weapons. Others are terrified that these weapons of mass destruction could be used very soon. Both are wrong in my opinion.
