TAI gave the good news: The first Supersonic UAV is coming!

Selcuk Bayraktar from Baykar Teknoloji recently shared the images showing that the new Subsonic Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which they have started to develop, is on the production line. He said that in the future, Transonic and Supersonic models may come. However, TAI has included the Supersonic UAV model, which is a first for our country, in its book “Breaking the Borders”. Here are the details…

Will Bayraktar KIZILELMA be able to replace the F-16 and F-35?

The first news and photos of the start of work for Bayraktar KIZILELMA, developed by Baykar Teknoloji, were shared.

TAI will produce 3 prototypes for Supersonic UAV!

The Supersonic UAV, which will be produced by TAI, will not actually rival Bayraktar KIZILELMA/ MIUS. This device, which has a speed of 1 Mach, a wingspan of 80 cm and a length of 270 cm, can be launched from SİHA platforms such as ANKA and AKSUNGUR.

Therefore, when Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which can reach Mach 0.8 speed in the first place, is released, it is estimated that he will be kicked out of this platform after the integration work. However, TAI designs this device primarily to work with MMUs.

As for the working principle, it is aimed that all three prototypes of this device with turbojet engine will be able to reach supersonic speeds. Multiple interchangeable payloads can be integrated to meet many needs such as electronic warfare support, electronic warfare attack and deceptive target. In addition, tracking and flight control of this new UAV, which will be launched from ANKA and AKSUNGUR, can be performed via the jointly used Ground Control Station.

TAI continues to expand its work for aviation. After developing the armed model of Hürkuş, its first export was made. But 2023 will be quite busy. Because, in addition to the first flight of Hürjet, the engine to be used in the MMU will be ignited for the first time. In addition, thanks to the gains from the T625 Gökbey, ATAK 2, the larger version of the T129 ATAK, will be launched and its first flight will be made.
