gain The Siemens group is investing one billion euros in Germany. “This is our clear commitment to Germany as a location,” said CEO Roland Busch in an interview with the Handelsblatt. Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) rated the plan as a “strong signal for Germany as a location for innovation and production”.

In view of the good business, the Dax group had announced that it would invest an additional two billion euros this year, primarily in the expansion of its production capacities worldwide. Half of it now goes to Germany.

In Erlangen alone, where 3,500 people work, 500 million euros are to be invested in digitization and the expansion of production capacities. In the Franconian city, Siemens produces, among other things, machine tool controls for mechanical engineering, the heart of industrial production in factories worldwide.

Siemens wants to build a high-tech model factory

The other half a billion euros are to be invested in Healthineers locations in Forchheim and Erlangen, among other things. Siemens is also planning additional development capacities in Erlangen.
