Dusseldorf In the Ukraine war, the city of Mariupol, besieged by Russia, tried again on Sunday to bring civilians to safety via a humanitarian corridor. However, according to Ukrainian sources, that also failed. According to information from the Reuters news agency, only 300 people escaped from the city via a supposedly safe escape corridor.

According to the report, the ceasefire planned until 9 p.m. did not last, and the route was shelled. The latter has now been officially confirmed by the Ukrainian side. Both sides blame each other, but that doesn’t change the result: According to Ukrainian sources, the residents of the port city on the Black Sea are stuck without electricity or heating, and thousands are dead and injured.
