ULAQ SİDA, which has been frequently featured in the press in the past years, was developed in partnership with ARES Shipyard and Meteksan Defense. Among its biggest rivals was SALVO, manufactured by Dearsan. But as of today, SANCAR SİDA, which was developed in cooperation with Yonca-Onuk Shipyard and Havelsan, has also joined this competition.

The main task of unmanned sea vehicles will be to keep our territorial waters safe. These vehicles, which can act individually or in groups, will be able to detect enemies. If necessary, it will intervene. It will do this with the advanced sensors, communication technologies and weapon systems on them.

The supersonic UAV developed by TAI took part in the EFES 2022 exercise. Moreover, it was exhibited on a SİHA.

Compared to a cruiser, frigate or corvette, the cost will be very small. Of course, there is a huge difference between their abilities. But we can roughly think of it as a comparison of the F-16 and Bayraktar TB2. Its importance will be evident especially when you do not want to risk or protect a ship.

From the outside, all three SİDAs look like coast guard boats. But they are completely unmanned. Although their main task seems to be coast and coast guard and border control, they will actually play a big role in the war.

ULAQ, SALVO SANCAR SİDA features

The range of these vehicles, which can reach speeds of 80-90 km / h, reaches up to 550 kilometers. In this way, they can approach possible targets very quickly and neutralize them with the missiles on them. But for the sake of being realistic, these vehicles, which can use platforms like CİRİT, ÇAKIR and UMTAS, have no chance on the battlefield alone against a frigate. However, when the integration studies of higher-impact missiles are completed, they may become a risk for ships.

On the other hand, as we mentioned, it can achieve great things in the Aegean and Mediterranean, thanks to its number of over a hundred in the coming years and its use in flocks. In the event of a war, it can take part as the lead unit or take on the task of protecting a sailing ship. In addition, it should not be considered only as a destructive power. These tools are also very important in terms of intelligence.
