Russia pays interest on seven bonds – litmus test to come

Berlin According to the Ministry of Finance, Russia has paid out interest on seven government bonds to creditors. A total of 50.2 billion rubles (around 556 million euros) were paid out, as the ministry announced on its website on Thursday. Investors and financial markets are currently closely watching Moscow’s ability and willingness to service foreign currency and ruble-denominated debt following Western sanctions over the Ukraine war. The Russian state budget is co-financed with the bonds.
