London delivered uranium ammunition to Kiev: Moscow warns
Russia has accused Britain of accepting “irreparable damage” by supplying Ukraine with armor-piercing uranium ammunition. “The British should know that they will have to take responsibility for this,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told news from London about the missiles that have already been delivered. Peskov said that after using such ammunition, cancer and other diseases increase. This was shown, for example, by data after the bombing of Yugoslavia.
Earlier in London, Defense Secretary James Heappey announced that Britain had supplied thousands of rounds of ammunition for British Challenger 2 main battle tanks already in service in Ukraine. This includes armor-piercing ammunition with depleted uranium. “For security reasons, we will not comment on how many shots Ukraine has already used,” Heappey said in response to a written question in parliament.
Great Britain was the first country to pledge Western-style main battle tanks to Ukraine and announced the delivery of a total of 14 Challenger 2s. The first vehicles are already in use.
