For nine years he stood with his band colleagues at Elvis Presley’s († 42) side: drummer Ronnie Tutt. Now the 83-year-old has died with his family.
In a Facebook post, his daughter Terie Tutt wrote: “It is with deep sadness that my family and I share the loss of our beloved father. The legendary drummer Ronnie Tutt has left. “
Tutt had joined the band put together by guitarist James Burton (81) for the start of the Elvis shows in Las Vegas in 1969 and remained loyal to her until his death in 1977.
Elvis Presley Enterprises, the administration founded by Elvis’ ex-wife Priscilla Presley (76), which also looks after the Graceland estate, said in a statement: “Ronnie was not only a legendary drummer but also a close friend to many from us here at Graceland. We were always happy when he joined us to celebrate Elvis Week, Elvis’ birthday and many other special occasions. ”
In addition to Elvis Presley, Tutt also worked with other superstars from Johnny Cash to Stevie Nicks.
