Dusseldorf Robert Habeck is a worthy politician of the year 2022. In order to understand the scope of his work, it is worth taking a look back. At the end of 2021, Robert Habeck was listed in the Handelsblatt in the category “Anyone else noticed”. And indeed: he was noticed! As a good loser.
After a good three years as joint party leader with Annalena Baerbock, he would certainly have liked to become the Green Party’s candidate for chancellor, but in the end he let his colleague go first. Although Habeck described the decision a little later as the “hardest day of his political career” and thus made himself honest according to his nature, he subsequently put himself at the service of the greater good.
Because you can only win as a team. That alone makes him likeable. Unlike others in Germany and the world, where political losers either do not recognize the democratic result or attract attention in their party by unfortunate resignation.
