Report on Automobile Sales in Turkey Shared

New car market data for January and September 2023 has been published. The announced data shows that especially electric vehicles are spreading at a rapid pace.

Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD) shared new car and light commercial vehicle sales statistics between January and September of the current year. The shared data shows that there have been big jumps in the sales of each car class compared to last year.

Especially in this period when we start to see electric vehicles everywhere. ODMD reportcontains data that will make this situation logical. Without further ado, let’s take a look at vehicle sales with ODMD data.

There is a total increase of 64.8% compared to last year.

Looking at the data based on the same period of 2022 520,530 It appears that 100,000 vehicles were sold. In 2023, this number will be 857,575 jumped to higher levels. When we look at automobiles and light commercial vehicles separately, we see that automobiles increased by 67%, from 399,224 units sold to 666,890. In the light commercial category, the number of sales from 121,306 reached 190,685, an increase of 57.2%.

When we look at it by engine type, we see that gasoline vehicles occupy the largest place in the market. The number of vehicles sold and market share are as follows:

Again, compared to last year, gasoline vehicles achieved a sales increase of 60.6%, diesel vehicles 49.1 percent, and autogas vehicles 9.8 percent. While this rate is 71.4 percent in hybrid vehicles, it is 862.8 percent happened.

The growth in the share of electric vehicles in the market, for example, caused the share of gasoline models to decrease from 69.9 percent to 67.2 percent.
