Frankfurt Homeowners will have to adapt. A new land tax reform law will come into force in 2022, which will have practical consequences for homeowners, tenants and companies with real estate.
The reason: As early as 2018, the Federal Constitutional Court declared the previous taxation of land and houses in Germany to be unconstitutional. As a consequence of this property tax reform, anyone who owns a plot of land or a house has to act in a few months. Millions of land and buildings will have to be reevaluated so that calculations can be made on a new basis in 2025.
