Quantum collaboration between Nvidia and Rolls Royce!

Quantum computers have been discussed and developed for many years. In this context, we still do not have a full quantum computer technology, but Nvidia and Rolls Royce are taking serious steps in this regard. With their partnership, the two brands use Nvidia graphics cards in quantum computers during the production of Rolls Royce’s jet engine, or in other words, imitate them. Here are the details on the subject…

Nvidia and Rolls Royce work together for quantum technology!

Nvidia, which stands out with its graphics cards, is working with Rolls Royce for quantum computing technologies. The two companies are joining forces to emulate a quantum computer in jet engine production. Yes, they imitate because the current technology is not enough to produce a full quantum computer. But we can see what a quantum computer can do.

Rolls Royce is trying to use these quantum computers in the production of jet engines for airplanes. Because even the most powerful computers on the market at the moment have difficulty calculating how the plane takes off with the power produced by a jet engine. Therefore, it is imperative that quantum computer technology takes place especially in the aviation sector.

Rolls Royce used Nvidia’s A-100 GPUs for the quantum computers it used in the first place. For now, they can take the title of quantum computer as a name. However, when we look at the hardware, it is difficult to say that they are truly quantum computers. It’s more like a quantum computer. This is because, compared to real quantum computers, these devices only have a few dozen quantum bits. This prevents us from saying that the calculations are completely reliable.

But when it comes to Rolls Royce’s algorithm, we can really call it a quantum basis. The brand’s HHL-based algorithm has the potential to significantly speed up CFD simulations, but we don’t yet have a quantum computer to run it. For this reason, the first tests and cooperation with Nvidia are of great importance.
