Rolls Royce used Nvidia’s A-100 GPUs for the quantum computers it used in the first place. For now, they can take the title of quantum computer as a name. However, when we look at the hardware, it is difficult to say that they are truly quantum computers. It’s more like a quantum computer. This is because, compared to real quantum computers, these devices only have a few dozen quantum bits. This prevents us from saying that the calculations are completely reliable.
But when it comes to Rolls Royce’s algorithm, we can really call it a quantum basis. The brand’s HHL-based algorithm has the potential to significantly speed up CFD simulations, but we don’t yet have a quantum computer to run it.
