Opportunities for returns with private equity

The return opportunities are higher, but investors need to consider a few basic factors.

Frankfurt Alternative investments away from the traditional equity and bond markets are becoming increasingly popular with private investors. This is also due to the fact that entry barriers have come down in recent years, financial education has improved and new technologies make access easier.

For example, the digital asset manager Liqid reports lively interest in investments in the private equity asset class, as off-market equity capital in companies. Private equity funds like KKR buy medium-sized companies or parts of groups, restructure them over several years and then sell them on at a higher price or take them public. Private investors also want to benefit more from this.

“Unlike with liquid investments, where we could observe a certain reluctance at times, we had a consistently high level of interest in the private markets area,” says Christian Schneider-Sickert, CEO of Liqid.
