Dusseldorf In the dispute over energy supplies from Russia, Post boss Frank Appel is on the side of the federal government. An embargo would be devastating for Germany and Europe, the manager said in an interview with the Handelsblatt. “Parts of our industry would collapse.”
Such a step will in no way ensure that the war in Ukraine will end. “If you massively weaken yourself, you won’t win,” Appel said. He also welcomes the fact that the federal government does not immediately jump to every topic in the Ukraine conflict, but makes decisions “calmly and clearly”. He has maintained this management style in his own company for the past 14 years.
