Portugal’s Central Bank, Banco de Portugal, has granted Bison Bank the first cryptocurrency bank license in the country.
According to Portuguese local news site Sapo on April 14, Banco de Portugal, Portugal’s authority for virtual asset service providers (VASP), has granted Bison Bank a license to become the first crypto bank in the country.
According to the news, Bison Bank has launched Bison Digital Assest, where it will run cryptocurrencies custody and cryptocurrency trading services. Also, the bank can expand its services in line with the demands stated.
Bison Digital Assest will be audited by the central bank within the scope of anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism.
