In the statement made by the MATIC team, the Heimdall node became inoperable as a result of the network outage last week. In order to provide a solution to the problem, an update to 0.2.8 will be made, which requires a hard fork.
As it is known, in the last week, the Polygon network caused the suspension of transactions and the disruption of the network’s activities, and in addition, some cryptocurrency There was a network issue that resulted in exchanges stopping MATIC withdrawals.
Due to the outage that caused the Heimdall and Bor validators to stop working, the MATIC team had to release a small update.
With the implementation of the last update, the last block before the interruption on the Bor chain will be reworked and the new chain will be put into use on March 20.
In addition, the Polygon team stated in their statement that Heimdall should continue to work normally before Bor. For this to happen, an update to Heimdall is required. This is the main purpose of the last hard fork.
