Cryptocurrency hardware wallet provider Trezor has announced that its users are under a phishing attack following its warning.
Hackers Hijack Email Addresses of Cryptocurrency Wallet Trezor Users
Trezor users started receiving suspicious-looking emails and reported this to the company. Interestingly, the emails sent to users also included the real email addresses of the Trezor owners. The attackers sent a download link in their fake emails saying that users’ data was compromised and that they should install the latest Trezor update.
The link in question is, of course, hackers bitcoin and it was coded to hijack the wallets of cryptocurrency holders. It was noted that the fake e-mails were created in a very professional and official English. Hackers claimed that Trezor users had to make a new update with the link in the fake e-mail because their data fell into the hands of malicious people.

Company Investigates Attacks
The company announced that they are investigating the situation after users contacted them. According to the company’s statement, the problem was caused by a newsletter subscription system hosted by MailChimp. It was learned that the e-mail addresses of the users were leaked by the hackers who attacked MailChimp.

MailChimp also confirmed that user data was leaked as a result of the attack.
