Not even in the USA: Here are the countries that made the 6th generation jet prototype!

The race for supremacy in the defense industry continues all over the world! Perhaps one of the most important products produced in this context is the American-made Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II fighter jet, which is the 5th generation fighter jet. While the F-35 was just beginning to be popular with other countries, the 6th generation fighter jet came to the fore. Here are the details about the 6th generation fighter aircraft prototype produced under the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) program of Germany, France and Spain…

Germany, France and Spain join forces for 6th generation fighter jet!

Germany, France and Spain’s Future Combat Air System (FCAS) program represents a major European trinational effort to design and build a sixth-generation fighter jet. The community, which is formed by combining engineering experiences, also wants to prevent the US embargo on the defense industry.

As it is known, the first flight within the scope of the F-35 project was made in 2005, and we have not seen a 5th generation fighter jet in the 18 years that have passed, except for US investments. The KAAN fighter aircraft, which emerged within the scope of the MMU TF-X project launched in our country only in 2011, can be counted among the 5th generation aircraft. For these reasons, 3 European countries may not want to leave the ropes to the United States in the 6th generation fighter aircraft.

The countries with the most UAVs have been announced! So where is Türkiye? Here are all the details on the subject…

The first fruits of the project, in which Germany, France and Spain acted together, were exhibited in 2019. Although a prototype that could not even be considered a mock-up was put forward in the first place, it was shown how a conceptual design would emerge. In addition, the scope of the project includes both manned and unmanned flights.

The model of the aforementioned aircraft was exhibited at the Paris Air Show in recent weeks. The model is almost identical to the one on display in 2019. However, we can say that it gives away some details about the design. The FCAS Program currently competes with related warfare programs such as the US Air Force’s Next Generation Air Domination (NGAD) and the UK/Italy/Japan Global Combat Aircraft Program (GCAP).

The group, which plans to make the first flight in 2028, states that it will carry out the first mass production in 2030. The fact that we have 7 years ahead and the subject of the 6th generation warplane reveals that these targets were determined with a somewhat dreamy eye, but the fact that the dynamics of the industry is changing rapidly should not be ignored.
