Another advantage of solid state battery technology is its lower cost. Costs can also be significantly reduced with solid state battery technology, which can be produced with cheaper materials instead of expensive metals used to produce lithium-ion batteries. Nissan believes that this figure can be reduced to $65 in its new systems, which it estimates to cost $75 per kilowatt.
