Technologies that will surpass the internal combustion models in the electric car market continue to be introduced. NIO introduced 500kW charging technology, which it calls ultra-fast, to car enthusiasts.

NIO introduces ultra-fast electric car charging technology

The new technology, introduced at the 2022 NIO Day event, will be able to charge an electric car built on 800V from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 12 minutes. The technology, which comes out with 500kW power, is designed to be used in all electric cars.

The new technology, which has a maximum current output of 660A, will enable 400V cars to reach 80 percent occupancy in just 20 minutes. In other words, it will be able to charge a car built on the 800V platform faster than those using the 400V platform.

Toyota is preparing to produce the latest generation hybrid system in Europe, which offers high performance and higher fuel efficiency.

NIO has introduced a new charging system that provides ultra-fast 500kW charging for EV batteries. The new charging architecture can charge an EV 10-80% in just 12 minutes. This makes it super fast to charge their EVs, thus significantly reducing their idle time. The NIO 500kW charger was part of a series of products and innovations highlighted at the NIO Day 2022 event.

The company announced that the ultra-fast charger has a 15.6-inch display and proprietary liquid cooling technology. The developed liquid cooling technology allows the weight of the high current charging cable to be significantly reduced.

Commenting on the subject, CEO William Li said, “The NIO charging network is open to all electric vehicle brands. Among the electric vehicle brands that use the NIO charging infrastructure are big companies such as BYD, Tesla and Li Auto.” made statements.

It is stated that the new model is among the highest capacity chargers ever introduced. Chinese XPeng introduced its 480kW charging system in the first months of 2022.
