The new technology, introduced at the 2022 NIO Day event, will be able to charge an electric car built on 800V from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 12 minutes. The technology, which comes out with 500kW power, is designed to be used in all electric cars.
The new technology, which has a maximum current output of 660A, will enable 400V cars to reach 80 percent occupancy in just 20 minutes. In other words, it will be able to charge a car built on the 800V platform faster than those using the 400V platform.

NIO has introduced a new charging system that provides ultra-fast 500kW charging for EV batteries. The new charging architecture can charge an EV 10-80% in just 12 minutes. The NIO 500kW charger was part of a series of products and innovations highlighted at the NIO Day 2022 event.
The company announced that the ultra-fast charger has a 15.6-inch display and proprietary liquid cooling technology. The developed liquid cooling technology allows the weight of the high current charging cable to be significantly reduced.
