New Windows 11 privacy bug!

Windows 11, which has been very busy lately, is on the agenda with a new error. A security researcher reported a privacy issue in the system as a result of his work on Windows 11. The error is related to photos that you do not want to be displayed or that you have hidden some private details. When you can detect the error in Windows 11, you can reach the first version of these photos. Here are the details about the Windows 11 privacy bug…

Is our personal data under threat?

Last month, it was on the agenda with the Windows 11 calendar application. Mail, reminders, calendar, etc. in the operating system. The applications work integrated with the calendar. So the crash of the calendar becomes the crash of all these apps. The problem is now partially solved.

But this week we are faced with a new problem. Google Pixel’s pointing error was discovered in the past weeks. This error allows a photo or video processed on Google Pixel devices to be partially restored to its original state. Aware of this bug, a group of security experts also ran tests on Windows 11 and realized that the Windows Snipping Tool was also affected by this bug.

Another problem in Windows 11!

Another problem in Windows 11!

After the update released last week, some users “Windows 11 calendar crashes!” provided feedback. Here are the details…

Some users stated that this problem is not very important. However, with some of them they faced a serious problem and demanded that their data be protected. Because these users do not only use their editing work when cropping the background from their photos to be posted on Instagram. They have to share images of their credit cards and their identities, even partially. While sharing these images, they cover the important parts with the help of the application. However, according to the last mistake, this information is easily revealed.

The bug on the Google side is called “Acropalypse”. This error keeps the 4-5 steps prior to the photo in its memory and shows you that version of the photo if requested. However, when we look at the error in Windows 11, the situation is different. The Windows 11 Snipping Tool application leaves behind unused data instead of cutting it completely. Thus, the part you thought was gone when you cropped your photo is actually still silently waiting on your computer. This makes it possible to reach the first version of that photo.

Neither company made a clear statement on the subject. However, it was stated that work has begun on the errors. So what do you think? We are waiting your comments!
