National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)has rolled up its sleeves for the second step of its long-term project Artemis, which aims to send human beings to the Moon. NASA, which successfully carried out the Artemis-1 mission last December, shared the image of the vehicle that it will use on its second and third journeys.
Artemis II scheduled for November 2024
NASA shared 3 Orion capsules, which are critical for Artemis missions. In the image, the Orion vehicle to be used for Artemis II is on the right, the Artemis III vehicle is on the left, and the Artemis vehicle IV is in the middle.
Orion manufacturer Lockheed Martin shared the photo with the following words;
The future of Orion spacecraft looks pretty good! Crew modules for the Artemis II, Artemis III and Artemis IV missions are in different stages of production at Kennedy Space Center to take the astronauts back to the Moon.
NASA introduced its special car for astronauts!
NASA has unveiled three new all-electric vehicles that will transport astronauts to the launch pad at Kennedy Space Center.
NASA astronauts Christina Koch, Victor Glover and Reid Wiseman and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen will take part in the Artemis II mission, which is expected to take place in 2024. According to the plans in the second step, the astronauts will not land on the lunar surface. The spacecraft will perform a flight only by approaching the lunar surface a short distance.
Artemis III, which will try to land the first woman and the first black person on the moon’s surface, is planned to be realized in 2025. The Orion capsule will be transported to the Moon by SpaceX’s Super Heavy and Starship vehicles. The final step of the mission, Artemis IV, is scheduled for 2028.
