NASA lost 2 satellites after failed launch!

Aerospace company Astra Space has been successful in only 2 of its last 7 launches. Finally, with the failed launch on Sunday, NASA planned to carry the first 2 of the 6 satellite models called TROPICS CubeSats, designed by NASA to study tropical cyclones, out of the atmosphere. But things did not go as planned. Currently, the search for these two satellites belonging to NASA continues.

NASA will still go with the Astra for a cheap launch!

During the failed launch, the vehicle carrying NASA satellites was actually carrying 2 of 6 mini-satellites the size of a shoebox, not the large satellites that came to mind. So even if it fails, it doesn’t cost NASA much.

The reason why NASA agreed with Astra Space from the very beginning was to reduce costs. Because in the statements made by the space agency, it is said that companies that do this type of low-paid space transportation business should be supported. However, it is stated that only 2 successful results in 7 launches have shaken some confidence.

NASA warns: We are worried about SpaceX’s Starship rocket

The first obstacle to SpaceX, which wanted to obtain a launch permit for Starship, came from NASA. NASA fears Starship will crash its launch site.

Thomas Zurbuchen, NASA’s Deputy Director of Science, said on Twitter. in the statement said:

While today’s event with Astra didn’t go as planned, the mission presented a great opportunity for new science and launch capabilities. Earth venture missions like this offer low-cost opportunities to send #NASAScience into space. It also provides more opportunities for researchers to access space.
