Musk sold $3.58 billion worth of Tesla shares, according to a US stock market release on Wednesday. Musk sold nearly $40 billion worth of shares in the electric car maker he founded last year. Tesla did not immediately respond to a Reuters after-hours request for comment.
Shares in Tesla, the world’s most valuable automaker, have been among the worst-performing stocks among major automakers and tech companies this year. Investors fear that Musk’s involvement with Tesla could suffer from the takeover of the short message service.
