Michael Rogowski: Long-time Voith boss has died

Heidenheim, Berlin The former President of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), Michael Rogowski, is dead. He died on Friday at the age of 82 in Heidenheim, as a BDI spokeswoman announced on Monday. The industrial engineer and long-time managing director of the Heidenheim machine manufacturer Voith was president of the umbrella association of German industry from 2001 to 2004.

Rogowski has made an enormously important contribution to strengthening Germany as an industrial location and to the strategic and substantive development of the BDI, declared association president Siegfried Russwurm.

From 1996 to 1999, Rogowski was also President of the Association of German Mechanical and Plant Engineering (VDMA). At Voith, the Stuttgart native was, according to the company, chairman of the corporate management board and the supervisory board for more than 35 years.
