Metaverse Company Sold Gaming Company for Almost $100 Million

Metaverse company Improbable has sold its gaming unit to Ireland-based Keywords Studios for £76.5 million ($97.1 million).

Improbable has completed the sale of The Multiplayer Group (MPG), which was founded in 2018 and is known for its work on games such as Fallout 76 and Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.

Keywords, which develops games largely for third parties, has studios in 70 regions, including the USA, Brazil, France, Spain and Mexico.

Improbable acquired MPG in 2019. MPG, which was purchased for £30 million at the time, more than doubled its value to £76.5 million and increased its number of employees sixfold to 360.

MPG’s biggest customers include names such as Activision Blizzard, Bethesda, Zenimax, Epic and 2K.
