Lord of the Rings Director: They Didn’t Send A Series Script

“They told me the script doesn’t exist yet”

Lord of the Rings series director Peter Jackson, despite being asked to take part in the project, has announced that he will be returning to Amazon’s upcoming series The Rings of Power. He said he never saw the script.

The famous producer and director states in an interview that Amazon contacted him, but when Jackson wanted to see the script, Amazon did not respond:

“They asked me if I would be interested in the drama. I said, ‘Is the script ready?’ I asked. Because I know how difficult it is to write scripts for movies, and I didn’t know the people who wrote the script for the series. They said, ‘No, we don’t have the script yet, but we’ll send it to you as soon as it’s finished.’ I waited for the script to come, but it didn’t.”
