Berlin The Lloyd shipyard is probably the first company in the MV shipyard holding company to leave insolvency behind. Insolvency administrator Christoph Morgen told journalists that he had three offers that he would now examine. The talks are at an advanced stage and a contract could be signed as early as March.

Like the MV shipyards in Stralsund, Wismar and Rostock, the Bremerhaven company had filed for bankruptcy in mid-January. The Asian parent company Genting did not want to provide any further funds. Several interested parties have also contacted Morgen for the other locations, but these talks will drag on for some time.

Among the three bidders for the Lloyd shipyard is a company that wants to completely take over the Bremerhaven site and keep all 230 employees. It is said to be a shipyard group that is primarily active in the Arab world. The company would build megayachts in Bremerhaven and carry out maintenance work.

With this solution, the bankruptcy application for Lloyd could be withdrawn, the administrator said in the morning. In his opinion, the bankruptcy application was not necessary at the time, the company was liquid.

According to information from industry circles, the Bremerhaven-based Rönner Group is also part of the group of bidders. However, the company specializing in shipbuilding supplies had previously offered a low price. This was done in consultation with other shipyard companies from the Hanseatic city to prevent competition for Lloyd, said a person familiar with the processes.
