Life is Strange will turn 9 years old next year. The independent production reached an important milestone by making huge sales in its 8th year. The narrative-driven adventure game has undeniably cemented its place among gaming enthusiasts, despite some divisive opinions about its dialogue.

The game’s official Twitter account celebrated this success with a Thanksgiving message and expressed gratitude to the players: “Happy Thanksgiving everyone! One thing we are very grateful for – the original Life Is Strange has reached over 20 million players! We want to thank each and every one of you for playing!”

First released nearly eight years ago, the game received generally positive reviews for its unique storytelling and episodic format. The success of the original game paved the way for numerous sequels and spin-off games within the game’s universe.

Original developer Don’t Nod wrapped up its contribution to the series with Life is Strange 2 in 2018. Earlier this year, the studio unveiled its next game, offering a stylistically nostalgic look reminiscent of the ’90s. Aside from this unnamed project, Don’t Nod is also working on stealth action RPG Banishers Ghosts of New Eden, which was revealed at The Game Awards last year. Originally planned for release in 2023, the game has faced a delay and is now scheduled to release on February 13, 2024.
